A Canadian musical duo, part of the collective of musicians featured on the Canvas album, due for release in 2023. They will join forces with fiddler Natalie MacMaster, dancer Donnell Leahy and the Celtic All Stars, along with a host of special guest musicians. Featuring virtuosity and athleticism, this concert will be truly unforgettable.

Grammy finalist and Order of Canada recipient Gael MacMaster collaborates with Grammy nominated Juno winners Leahy to bring a unique set of songs from the 19th century. Expect to hear all your favourites including Farewell To Peter, Hector The Hero and so much more.

Natalie MacMaster

Multi award nominated and considered one of Canada’s greatest fiddlers, Natalie MacMaster is a proud Cape Breton fiddler of violin music from her roots in Troy, Inverness County, Nova Scotia. Music can be found on CD’s such as Farewell To Peter, Get Me Through December, Jig Party, In My Hands and Cape Breton Girl. In 2023 she released her CD “Canvas” with her husband Donnell Leahy. Natalie was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2006 and nominated for a Grammy award for Best Traditional Folk Album for her CD My Roots Are Showing, which is included in a CD of music with Yo Yo Ma on the Grammy winning CD Songs of Joy & Peace. Natalie has won numerous East Coast Music Awards as well as Junos, 12 CDIMA Awards and has been nominated for 5 Gemini Awards. 

Donnell Leahy

Donnell Leahy, a Canadian fiddler known for his contributions to Celtic music, is a member of the award winning family band Leahy. He was born in Lakefield, Ontario and enjoys playing popular tunes such as “Hector The Hero”, “Fiddler’s Despair”, “Madame Bonaparte / Devil’s Dream / Mason’s Apron”, “St. Nick’s” and “Ellin Polka”. Donnell recently released a collaborative album titled “Canvas” (2023) with his partner Natalie. He and his family have been nominated for a number of Juno Awards and Canadian Country Music Awards and have toured the world performing to standing room only crowds, as well as sharing the stage with symphony orchestras. The young fiddler has brought a fresh new sound to the Celtic music world with his impressive style.

1037 SW Broadway Ave, Portland, OR 97205 This building was originally the Portland Public Theatre, later renamed the Paramount Theatre and was renovated to become the modern day concert hall it is today. Learn more about its history. Inside, patrons are seated in an Italian Rococo Revival decorated house with comfortable seating in the orchestra, mezzanine and balcony levels accommodating 2,776 people. Renovations were made possible through the Arts Educational Facility Bond Program and Portland Public Schools to bring accessibility modifications to the seating areas and facilities, making the venue accessible to everyone. Concessions are available at the stands near the main entrance. Portland’5 Centers for the Arts has renovated the building to its original splendor while at the same time modernizing it to accommodate the many different types of performances that are held here including classical music, jazz, folk, gospel, dance and theatre. There are several parking lots near the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall that will provide easy parking for your evening at the venue. Street parking around the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall is free, unattended and open to the public. Meters are only in effect until 7 PM. Additional pay surface lots are available in the surrounding Portland neighborhood to Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. SmartPark garages are also an option for indoor parking.
